Bringing the neighbourhood to life

The Port Melbourne Neighborhood House provides courses and activities for the residents of the City of Port Phillip, and other areas. Programs include:

Computer courses & computer room hire:
Introduction to Computers, Web Design, Email & Internet, Digital Photography, and Word & Excel. We also have a fully equipped computer room available for hire at affordable rates. See our hire page for more info.

Education for life classes:
Creative Writing, Kitchen Skills, Gardening, English as a Second Language, Reading & Writing, Owners Corporation Training, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment

Health and creative programs:
Tai Chi, Gentle Exercise, Yoga, Drop In Art, City of Voices Community Theatre, Roarhouse.

We have a range of new programs for 2010, including:

  • Reception, Administration and Volunteer Training
  • Three levels of English as a Second Language
  • Kid Gloves Childrens Theatre
  • Literacy & Numeracy
  • Drop in Art
  • FREE beginners bridge
  • Affordable Yoga for beginners ($5 per session)

Computer room and room hire

You will find information on our afforable rates and well equipped rooms in our room hire section.

We are now taking enrolments for Term 1 2010. For more information on our courses and activities see the sub menus on the left. You will find our latest Term brochure in the download forms sub menu.

We also run a range of other activities including activities for people with mental health issues, holiday programs for families, activities for teens, scrabble & bridge groups, playgroups, senior citizens groups and walking groups.

Our mission statement

Port Melbourne Neighbourhood House provides a welcoming environment for local residents by:

  • Valuing the participation of all residents in the social and cultural life of the community
  • Supporting people’s aspirations and interests
  • Providing affordable and inclusive courses, projects and groups

 

Our office is open 9.30-5pm Monday to Thursdays, and 12-5pm on Fridays. However we also run classes in the evenings, on Fridays and on weekends. For information on how to find us see the contact us page.
